2 Weeks ago I attended my first photography workshop ever. It was a Fershop – that’s how Fer Juaristi calls his workshops. Fer is a mexican destination wedding photographer. His work is incredible, crazy, fun and powerful. And the best part: He’s one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met!
So I flew to Manchester to see him and that trip was inspiring in so many ways! Fer was like an open book, answering every question, giving great advice and cracking jokes. He told us about his business, how he runs it and why it works for him. And then we could see the master do his magic. The way he sees the light and how he creates beautiful photographs is amazing!
Another highlight: our models for the day were Laura and Tabiah Tayo – a sweet and very talented wedding photographer husband and wife team from Manchester.
This workshop wasn’t one where the attendees would walk away from with tons of great images to use for their portfolio but go home buzzing, inspired and with a huge amount of information and new input. It was also about seeing how Fer creates his stunning portraits and how to get the most interesting shots at the strangest looking locations. But of course we still got the opportunity to take some portraits as well. Laura and Tobiah have been very patient with us!
The day went by way too fast! It was so much fun to not only meet one of my photography heroes but also a lot of really nice and incredibly talented photographers from England!
And kudos to Chris and Adam for getting Fer to come Manchester and picking out an amazing venue for the day!
